Immigration Policy & Legal Background
According to Section 111A, Section (2) of the Cyprus National Act: Foreign investors can become Cypriot citizens through naturalization and obtain a Cypriot passport. Cyprus renewed its bill in February 2019, and the new policy came into effect on May 15. The national status can be obtained through the following channels:
1. Investment method: The investor must purchase one or more sets of self-owned properties with a net value of at least 2 million euros in Cyprus.
Exit mechanism: After holding the real estate for 5 years, the investor only needs to keep at least one set of self-occupied property worth 500,000 euros and hold it permanently
2. Investment method: The investor shall carry out at least 2.5 million Euros of commercial real estate + self-owned housing property investment portfolio in Cyprus (Note: the value of the self-owned housing property shall not be less than 500,000 euros)
Exit mechanism: After holding the real estate for 5 years, the investor needs to keep at least one set of self-occupied property worth 500,000 Euros and hold it permanently plus an additional 150,000 Euro donations
Other conditions: Applicants must hold a valid Schengen visa.
