Recently, Henley & Partners, the publisher of the Heinz Passport Index, selected the 25 best immigrant cities in the world.
According to this ranking, London has surpassed New York to become the world's best immigrant city.
London: the number one deserves its name
There are 10 scoring criteria for this ranking, which are: lifestyle, taxation, education, real estate, healthcare, security, infrastructure, stability, epidemic security, and services related to immigration projects.
In the end, London got a total score of 705.7 by virtue of its excellent performance in education, safety, stability, and real estate, which is nearly 40 points higher than the second place New York.

In terms of education, London ranks second with a high score of 96, second only to New York (100 points). This is because London is adjacent to the world’s top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, and is home to University College London (UCL) and Imperial College London (IC ), London Politics and Economics (LSE), King's College (KCL) and other top universities.
safety
Henley & Partners pointed out that London has an efficient level of government governance, public security is better than other cities, and network security is also well guaranteed.
stability
London has high overall scores in terms of democracy, corruption, ease of doing business, economic flexibility, and e-participation. In addition, the UK Investment Immigration Program was launched in 1994 and is one of the longest lasting and most mature investment immigration policies.
real estate
London is the city with the highest real estate score, higher than New York and Sydney. Thanks to the huge potential of the luxury housing market, sales in the London real estate market increased by 10% year-on-year in the first half of 2021.
New crown security
In terms of new crown safety, London ranks third in scoring, second only to Singapore and Dubai.
Henley & Partners believes that the British government's move to issue money during the new crown crisis and the comprehensive economic stimulus plan have protected the interests of all parties.
infrastructure
In terms of infrastructure, London ranks third, after Singapore and New York. London has tree-lined parks and comprehensive transportation facilities, and is an important global transportation hub.
Regarding the overall strength of London, Henley & Partners commented: “London is the richest metropolis in the UK, contributing as much as 23% to the UK’s GDP. The financial industry, technology and creative industries are all well-developed.”
