Hong Kong has 263 outlying islands
like stars
Scattered on the blue waves of the South China Sea
A paradise-like niche and secret island
There are many stories waiting for visitors to explore in person
Please follow Xiaoxing to start a journey to outlying islands~
No.1-Lamma Island
Because the shape of the island is similar to the word "Ya", it is called Lamma Island (formerly known as "Boliao Island")
Lamma Island, which is mainly engaged in fishing, has attracted many foreigners to live here in recent years, but the island still retains a traditional fishing village atmosphere.
① Disembark at the Sok Kwu Wan pier and walk along the Jiale Trail. You can have a panoramic view of the mountains and seas, cultural relics, and the imprints of traditional fishing village life.
② If you disembark from the boat at Yung Shue Wan, you will be greeted by the exotic Yung Shue Wan Street.
There are many handicraft boutiques, seafood grocery stores, and Chinese and Western gourmet stores. The shops with different styles show the characteristics of the island's multicultural integration.
Compatible with the East and the West, you can harvest two completely different island styles in one day, which is the most fascinating place on Lamma Island.
No.2- Cheung Chau
Cheung Chau, about 10 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong Island, is the most densely populated island in the Outlying Islands District.
From the fifth day to the ninth day of the fourth month of the lunar calendar, the annual festival "Taiping Qingjiao" is held here. Activities such as color parade and bun grabbing will be carried out one after another, filling the island with joy.
On weekdays, Cheung Chau shows a leisurely fishing island atmosphere.
Friends who like adventure can go to Cheung Po Tsai Cave, Cheung Chau Rock Carvings and Five Elements Stone to open their eyes, and foodies can start a day of gluttonous journey from the pier.
No.3- Po Toi Island
Po Toi Island, an outlying island known as "Hong Kong Antarctic". Sitting on the endless, clear and blue South China Sea scenery, the island is sparsely populated and picturesque, it is a treasure island that you can't miss.
The abandoned old houses on the hillside, the strangely shaped reefs on the coast and the white lighthouse on the top of the mountain form the unique mystery, wildness and romance of the island.
Different from the sumptuous seafood feasts on other outlying islands, the signature delicacy here is a bowl of egg noodles with seaweed.
No.4-Tamen Island
Tap Mun Island is the outlying island with the most paradise temperament.
There is a green lawn near the sea on the island, an oasis in the vast sea, which is so beautiful.
This may be the most primitive island in Hong Kong. There may be more cows than tourists on the island, but the character is very docile.
The scenery is beautiful, the air is fresh, and it is suitable for camping all year round.
When the sun sets in the west and the afterglow of the setting sun, the entire sea surface is rendered into a golden ocean, and the years are so quiet~
No.5-Peng Chau
Surrounded by the sea, Peng Chau used to be a thriving industrial island. At that time, it was known as the "Great Chinese Match Factory" in Southeast Asia.
From the prosperity of the old days to the tranquility of today, the appearance of Peng Chau has undergone earth-shaking changes. The presence of many art spaces and workshops has brought new vitality to the island.
The graffiti that can be seen everywhere, the creative art installations, and the chaotic and orderly art space allow you to experience the trendy Hong Kong-style art.
Old store, old bakery, old ice room, all kinds of interesting shops are even more dizzying.
On the islands of Hong Kong
No bustling city atmosphere
But there is a simple and quiet slow life
No bright neon lights at night
But there are brilliant stars all over the sky
unforgettable
