With the development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian government continues to adjust the deadlines for its benefits to provide support to those in need.
Students studying in Canada!
The good news is here again!
Recently the Canadian Federal Government announced:
The length of time to double the welfare payments for Canadian college students,
Extend to 2023!
Last year, the federal government doubled the Canadian student welfare for the 20-21 academic year: up to 6,000 yuan for full-time students and 10,000 yuan for disabled students.
The federal government announced a subsidy policy aimed at helping college students in its April budget this year. This policy reduces the amount of college student welfare payments Doubled.
And this policy is officially effective today.
The doubling of benefits has been extended to July 2023. This is part of the 4.5 billion yuan of funding provided by the federal government for students and recent graduates, which is included in the 2021 federal budget.
According to the official website of the federal government, the government currently provides welfare payments and loans to students. Students can apply directly to the provincial government where they are located. Welfare does not need to be repaid, and the loan needs to be repaid after completing school, and interest is required.
In addition, the federal government has confirmed that all COVID-19 welfare programs in Canada will be extended for another four weeks, including the Canadian Rehabilitation Benefits Program (CRB) .
In the notice published on July 30, the Canadian Ministry of Finance announced:
① The validity period of Canada Rehabilitation Benefits (CRB), Canada Rehabilitation Care Benefits (CRCB) and Canada Rehabilitation Sickness Benefits (CRSB) will be extended to October 23, 2021.
② The FBI also confirmed that the maximum number of weeks that CRB can apply for is extended by another 4 weeks for a total of 54 weeks. The extension will be based on a weekly payment of $300 and ensure that those who have exhausted Employment Insurance (EI) benefits can use it .
③ The eligibility period for Canadian emergency wage subsidy, Canadian emergency rent subsidy and lock-in support will be extended to October 23, 2021.
④ CRCB can be claimed for up to 42 weeks, while CRSB can be claimed for up to 4 weeks.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Canada has introduced a number of welfare policies, helping many people to tide over the difficulties temporarily.
Among them, many people who did not work during the epidemic are very concerned about CRB. Like the early emergency relief fund CERB, it can provide income support for those who do not have Employment Insurance (EI).
Previously, Canada officially announced that starting from July 17, the amount of the Canadian Recovery Benefit (CRB) will be adjusted to $600 every two weeks .
The notice stated that because of the epidemic, many people were unemployed or their working hours were greatly reduced. At the same time, many people were unable to obtain unemployment insurance. For these employees or self-employed persons, Canada provides CRB support, which is issued and managed by the Inland Revenue Department. In addition to the extension of benefits, Canada’s milk payment has also increased. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced last week that the amount of milk payment will be increased again to ensure that children can have a better life.
