Precautions before departure
Before departure, students should carefully pay attention to the relevant boarding, quarantine and inspection arrangements while preparing valid personal documents.
According to the current regulations of the Hong Kong government, all persons entering Hong Kong must submit a health declaration form in advance.
You can submit online: https://www.chp.gov.hk/hdf/
After completing the online submission, the system will automatically issue a QR code to download the application result.
Students need to show the result of declaration to relevant personnel when entering the country. It’s worth noting that the validity period of the QR code varies according to the port of entry. The validity period of entry through Hong Kong International Airport is 48 hours. Entry through land control is only valid for 24 hours.
Immigration quarantine measures
According to the latest regulations of the Hong Kong government, due to the global and local development of the new crown epidemic, the government has decided to implement the latest entry prevention and control measures from August 10.
1 All visitors from overseas areas must comply with three major requirements
Under the new measures, anyone who comes to Hong Kong boarding from overseas must comply with three basic requirements, including:
① Must have a negative nucleic acid test certificate 72 hours before boarding
② After arriving in Hong Kong, a "test pending" must be carried out at the airport
③ And after confirming the negative result of the test, you must take the government-arranged car to go to the designated quarantine hotel for compulsory quarantine
2 NEW! Entry quarantine arrangements for high, medium and low risk areas
According to the latest classification of the Hong Kong government, most European and American countries, such as the United States, Germany, the Netherlands and other countries are classified as medium-risk areas, that is, non-Hong Kong residents can enter Hong Kong as long as they have completed the vaccination, but they must be quarantined for 14 days if they undergo an antibody test It can be shortened to 7 days.
If people arriving in Hong Kong are not vaccinated, the quarantine period will be extended.
3 Non-Hong Kong residents cannot come to Hong Kong from high-risk areas
High-risk areas: Only Hong Kong residents who have completed the vaccination are allowed to board the flight to Hong Kong
Medium-risk areas: Only Hong Kong residents and non-Hong Kong residents who have completed the vaccination are allowed to board the plane to Hong Kong
All people arriving in Hong Kong are required to undergo strict quarantine measures and repeated tests.
Under the new measures, the previous flight fusing mechanism for extremely high-risk areas is also not applicable, but the fusing mechanism for individual flights will continue to be implemented.
According to the changes in the epidemic situation in the mainland, the Hong Kong government also announced on August 5 quarantine and testing arrangements for people from mainland China, Macau and Taiwan except Guangdong Province.
Students can find relevant arrangements after entering Hong Kong according to the following requirements↓< /span>
※ Are you a Hong Kong resident?
Hong Kong residents can make an appointment to return to Hong Kong under the "Easy Return to Hong Kong Program". If they have not been out of Guangdong Province within 14 days, they can be exempted from quarantine.
※ Did you stay in any area on the day of boarding or 21 days before?
If you stay in a very high-risk area (Group A) for two hours 21 days before boarding or arriving at the port, you will not be allowed to enter the country.
※ Has the vaccination been completed?
If you are not a Hong Kong resident, after completing the vaccination, you have not been out of Guangdong Province within 14 days before entering the country, and you only need to quarantine for 7 days after arriving in Hong Kong.
If you travel to Hong Kong from a low-risk area in the Mainland, you will need to be quarantined for the first seven days after being vaccinated and self-monitored in the next seven days.
Completion of vaccination means that the recommended dose of vaccine has been completed in accordance with relevant guidelines at least 14 days before arrival in Hong Kong.
※ When choosing hotel quarantine, people arriving from the mainland did not designate a hotel for quarantine and need to book a hotel in advance (When booking a hotel, it is recommended to confirm with the hotel: ①whether the hotel can be quarantined ②can accept ordering of takeaway, express delivery ③Is there a network?).
※ When choosing home isolation, roommates or family members who live with you do not need to undergo compulsory isolation together.
Transit Hong Kong
If you are flying directly from a mainland city to Hong Kong, you do not need to do a nucleic acid test in advance (Shenzhen Baoan Airport flies to Hong Kong, Shenzhen Airport requires all personnel entering and exiting the terminal to issue a nucleic acid negative report within 48 hours).
When passing the customs, students need to confirm whether they bring the following materials:
※ Fill in and submit the Hong Kong entry health declaration in advance, save the screenshot to generate a QR code
※ Pink Verification + Hong Kong and Macau Pass
※ International roaming is activated for mainland mobile phones (or Hong Kong mobile phones are available)
※ ID card/passport + vaccination certificate (if any)
※Sign pen
According to the scheduled flight departure/transfer address, confirm whether nucleic acid testing is required before departure. There will be staff guidance throughout the process.
There are still many changes in the epidemic environment, but many universities are already preparing to start offline classes. Students who are going to study in different places can plan and check the travel list in advance to increase the guarantee for a smooth start to school.
