About Overseas Chinese Students
The Joint Entrance Examination for Overseas Chinese Students is an undergraduate examination designed by the Ministry of Education of China for overseas Chinese and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to enter the mainland undergraduate program. It is also the main way for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to apply for mainland universities.
registration time
From March 1st to March 31st, 2023, of which March 1st to 15th is the time for online registration, and March 16th to 31st is the time for registration confirmation.
Registration conditions
Candidates from Hong Kong and Macau must hold:
① "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" or "Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents"
② Hong Kong or Macau ID card
Candidates in Taiwan must hold:
① "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents" or "Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents"
② A valid proof of residence in Taiwan
Overseas Chinese Candidates:
① Holding a legal residence status → One parent and the child need to live in the country for 30 consecutive months within the 5 years before applying for the test.
② Holding long-term/permanent residence status → One parent and the child need to have lived in the country for no less than 18 months in the 2 years before applying for the exam.
PS: Chinese citizens are not considered overseas Chinese when they study abroad (including government-sponsored and self-funded) or when they go abroad for official business (including dispatched laborers) and work abroad.
