Hong Kong DSE exam
DSE (Diploma of Secondary Education), the full name of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination, also known as the "Hong Kong College Entrance Examination", is organized by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Bureau, and the results are recognized by mainland, Hong Kong and overseas universities.

Exam subjects and modes

Eligibility
The DSE exam allows students from all over the world to apply for the exam. Candidates outside Hong Kong generally apply for the exam as self-study students.

Current students:
① Candidates are enrolled in Secondary 6 in a registered school that has been approved to refer to the current HKDSE;
② Attend classes at the place where the school is registered.

Self-taught students:
Anyone who meets one of the following conditions can apply for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination as a self-study student:
① Have taken the Diploma Examination, or an equivalent examination
② Calculated on January 1st of the examination year, at least 19 years old
③ Those who are not studying the courses of the Diploma Examination, but have completed or are studying courses determined by the Examination Bureau to be equivalent to Secondary Six (equivalent to Senior Three in the Mainland) one year before the examination.
Mainland students, overseas candidates and candidates with Hong Kong identity but have not taken DSE courses can apply for the examination as self-study students.
