Recently, the Portuguese Immigration Service (SEF) officially released the latest statistics of the Portuguese Golden Visa in April.
In April 2023, a total of 116 main applicants and 167 dependent applicants were approved for the Portuguese Golden Visa. The total number of people approved is 283, with a total investment of about 63.27 million euros.
Among the 116 main applicants, 28 are from the United States, 15 are from China, 14 are from the United Kingdom, 7 are from South Africa and 7 are from Lebanon.
Real estate investment is the main investment method
From the perspective of investment methods, among the 116 approved main applicants, 83 obtained them through house purchase and migration, with an investment amount of 51.0116 million euros.
Among them, 37.644 million euros of funds flowed into 500,000 euros of house purchase and relocation projects; 13.366 million euros of funds flowed into 350,000 euros of old house renovation projects.
Chinese families are the most approved
According to the overall data released by the Portuguese Immigration Service since the implementation of the golden visa in October 2012, as of the end of April 2023, 12,037 main applicants have been approved for golden visas, and 19,600 dependent applicants have been approved.
Among them, 5319 were awarded to Chinese families (ranked first), followed by Brazilian families (1203), American families (635), Turkish families (571)...

On February 16, 2023 local time, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa announced at the Portuguese Cabinet Ministers' Meeting that the Portuguese "Golden Residence Visa" investment immigration program will be officially cancelled!
