Sun Yuk-han, Secretary for Labor and Welfare of the Hong Kong SAR Government, said at the opening ceremony that between January and October 31 this year, Hong Kong received a total of approximately 185,000 applications for various talent import programs, and approximately 115,000 applications were successfully approved.
Among them, the High-end Talent Pass Program received approximately 55,000 applications and approved approximately 43,000 applications.
It is worth noting that the Hong Kong Talent Service Office was officially established on October 30 to provide online and offline services for talents to better meet the needs of talents.
Sun Yuhan emphasized that Hong Kong will continue to increase its efforts to attract talents in the future, including introducing mid-range talents to promote Hong Kong's overall development, and optimizing labor introduction plans.

Expanding the list of universities eligible for the “High Talent Access” program
According to Hong Kong’s 2023 Policy Address, starting from November, the authorities will expand the list of eligible universities for the High-end Talent Pass Program from the original 176 to 184 institutions.
These 8 newly added institutions include 3 mainland universities, which are among the top ten mainland universities in the "Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academic Ranking of World Universities" in the past five years, specifically Wuhan University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Harbin Institute of Technology .
Among the other 5 overseas institutions, 4 are located in Switzerland, namely Ecole Hotel de Lausanne, Swiss University of Hotel Management, Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, and Glion Institute of Higher Education. The fifth one is located in the Netherlands and is the University of Hotel Management in The Hague.
Expanding the range of optional institutions for the High-end Talent Pass Program will help attract more high-end talents to Hong Kong.
