On November 19, local time, the Canadian government officially announced that starting from November 30, Canada will expand the list of approved vaccines, recognize vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WTO), and China will develop Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines. Also in this list.
This means that starting from November 30th, travelers from China can enter Canada directly as long as they take the Sinopharm and Kexing vaccine 14 days before entry!
Entry regulations after November 30, 2021
Previously, Canada only recognized Pfizer, Modena, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson 4 new crown vaccines.
Starting from November 30th, passengers entering Canada must prove that they have been fully vaccinated with the vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WTO) at least 14 days before arrival.
List of approved vaccines in Canada
Passengers from China who have completed the entire vaccination process of Sinopharm or Kexing 14 days before entering the country can also refer to the entry regulations for fully vaccinated passengers.
Entry regulations
1. Inbound nucleic acid testing
The PCR nucleic acid test report obtained within 72 hours must be presented before entry;
2. Isolation plan
In case you do not qualify as a fully vaccinated passenger, you need to enter a suitable isolation plan in Arrive CAN, and you may be asked by border officials to explain the plan;
3. Upload the vaccination certificate
Upload the vaccination certificate within 72 hours before travel via Arrive CAN, and bring a paper copy when entering the country.
Note: If your vaccination report is not in English or French, it must be translated by a certified translation agency.
4. Random test
After arriving in Canada, the border officer may notify you to undergo a random COVID-19 test. Passengers who are randomly tested do not need to wait for the results and can go directly to their final destination after undergoing the test.
No need to provide proof of new crown for short trips
The Canadian federal government also announced at the press conference that it has amended its border inspection rules to facilitate people's short-distance travel.
Starting from November 30, Canadians who travel abroad for less than 72 hours and are fully vaccinated with Covid-19 do not need to present a PCR nucleic acid test report when they return to Canada!
The applicable populations exempt from PRC nucleic acid testing are fully vaccinated Canadian citizens, permanent residents and aboriginals.
Entry regulations after January 15, 2022
It should be noted that the Canadian government also announced that starting from January 15, 2022, some groups that were previously exempt from entry requirements need to be fully vaccinated before they can enter the country, including:
International students who have reached the age of 18;
Individuals going to reunite with their families;
Individuals with valid work permits, including temporary foreign workers;
Professional and amateur athletes;
Basic service providers, including truck drivers.
