Recently, the Hong Kong Immigration Department has added services to facilitate Hong Kong people and introduced new measures to apply for travel documents for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in the Mainland.
Starting today (November 29), the Immigration Section of the five mainland offices of the SAR government, namely the offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangdong and Wuhan.
In addition to processing the application for renewal of the SAR passport, the application for the first application for the SAR passport or the renewal of the "Visa Identity Document" and the re-entry permit will be processed.
Special Zone Passport
Under the new measures, eligible applicants who hold a valid Hong Kong permanent identity card can submit their first application or application for SAR passport renewal through the Immigration Section of the Mainland office, or by post, drop in, in person, If you submit your application to the Hong Kong Immigration Department via the Internet or the mobile application of the Immigration Department, you can choose to collect the HKSAR passport from the Immigration Section of any Mainland office.
Certificate of Identity for Visa
Regarding the application for renewal of the Document of Identity for Visa Purposes, eligible applicants in the Mainland can submit the application for exchange of the Document of Identity for Visa Purposes in person through the office in the Mainland, or mail the application for renewal of the Document of Identity for Visa Purposes to the travel document of the Hong Kong Immigration Department And the Nationality (Application) Section, both can choose to collect the Document of Identity for Visa Purposes at any Immigration Section of the Mainland Office.
Re-entry permit
As for the application for re-entry permit, eligible applicants in the Mainland can exchange applications for re-entry permit in person through the Immigration Section of the Mainland office, and authorize a Hong Kong consultant to issue the Hong Kong Immigration Department at the selected Hong Kong Immigration Department. The district office will pay the application fee and collect the re-entry permit.
Homecoming Permit
From October 10, 2020, Hong Kong and Macao residents can apply for reissuance of the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (commonly known as Homecoming Permit) in the Mainland, and Hong Kong and Macao residents can apply to the entry-exit management department of any public security agency at or above the county level in the country. Issuance of the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents, and the application procedures are the same as those in Hong Kong and Macao.
Applicants can apply through the window, submit materials, pay for the certificate, voluntarily choose the certificate mailing service, and complete all the application procedures at one time. The time for applying for the certificate is shortened to 7 working days. Those with urgent needs can also achieve "emergency" through the "green channel". The permit is processed immediately."
At the same time, Hong Kong and Macao residents can use the immigration government service platform to realize online inquiries about acceptance locations, appointment processing times, and self-service inquiries about the progress of visa applications, and many other "Internet+" government services.
