Introduction to EP
EP (Employment Pass), or Employment Pass, is a work permit provided by the Singapore government to attract highly educated foreign professionals.
After the permit is issued, the applicant has no entry and exit restrictions during the period of residence, and the employment permit can be renewed as long as the applicant is still employed after it expires.

From 1 September 2023, in addition to meeting the qualifying salary, EP candidates must pass the points-based complementarity assessment framework (COMPASS).
The passing line for this evaluation standard is 40 points, which is divided into two parts: basic evaluation standard and reward standard.
Basic Evaluation Criteria
At present, the COMPASS basic evaluation standard is divided into four basic items for scoring, which are divided into three grades of 0 points, 10 points, and 20 points.
◆Salary: The applicant's monthly salary reaches or exceeds 65% of the level of peers of the same age;
◆Educational background: Whether the applicant graduated from the top 100 universities in the world;
◆Nationality: Whether the employees of the enterprise come from diverse countries and regions;
◆Enterprise: Whether to employ enough local staff.
Award standard
◆An additional 20 points can be added if the applicant is engaged in a job on the Singapore Shortage Occupation List.
◆When the applicant's company meets the evaluation criteria for innovation or internationalization, 10 points can also be added.
By default, small companies with fewer than 25 PMET employees score 10 points on C3 and C4.
If the applicant's nationality accounts for one-third or more of the company's PMET, the skill bonus is only increased by 10 points.
