Relaxed application requirements
There is no academic qualification restriction for Category A talents, who are eligible to apply if their annual income reaches HK$2.5 million or above, while Category B/C talents who have graduated from one of the 198 eligible universities recognized by the Hong Kong Government and meet the corresponding requirements are eligible to apply.

Simplified application process
Compared with the QMAS, the QMAS eliminates the scoring and selection process. As long as the applicant meets the requirements of any one of the three categories A/B/C and provides complete supporting documents, he/she will usually be approved smoothly.

High Pass Rate
Since its launch on December 28, 2022, the Programme has received more than 100,000 applications as of the end of September this year, of which 81,000 have been approved, demonstrating a very high pass rate.

No need to find a job beforehand
Applicants are not required to find a job in Hong Kong before applying. Once the application is successful, a 2-year stay visa (3 years for Talent Category A) will be granted directly, making it convenient for the whole family to come to Hong Kong and obtain Hong Kong status.

Efficient Approval
The Immigration Department can normally complete the vetting and approval process within 1-2 months upon receipt of all the required documents of the application under the Highly Talented Person Scheme.

Freedom of Work and Business
During the authorized period of stay, applicants are free to engage in or change employment, and to establish or participate in any business in the HKSAR without the need to obtain prior approval from the Director of Immigration.
