Application System for Highly Talented Persons has been Updated
On October 16, the Chief Executive of the HKSAR, Mr. Lee Ka-chiu, delivered his third Policy Address in the Legislative Council.
The address stated that the validity period of the Talent Visa Category A would be extended to three years, and the list of universities under the “Highly Talented Persons Pass Scheme” would be expanded to include 13 new institutions, including nine in the Mainland and four overseas, bringing the total number of institutions to 198.
On November 1, the Hong Kong Immigration Department updated the application system for the Highly Talented Persons Pass to include the 13 new institutions, which means that people who graduated from these institutions can now submit applications.
The new institutions are as follows:
★ Mainland: Sichuan University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Southeast University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Tongji University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Nankai University, Tianjin University;
★ Overseas: Royal College of Art, London College of Art, Parsons School of Design and Rhode Island School of Design.
So far, 22 mainland institutions have met the application requirements of the Hong Kong High Achiever Program.
The program is known for its relaxed application requirements and efficient approval process, and applicants can obtain their Hong Kong status in as little as one month.
